Terms of Service

1. About Gold Sessions

Gold Sessions is a platform where Clients discover and book Experts for sessions and other Offers, based on what those Experts know from their own professional and lived experience. Gold Sessions was founded by Steph Obi.

In these Terms, “Gold Sessions”, “we” and “us” mean the Gold Sessions service and the people who run it; “you” means anyone who uses it. A “Client” is someone who books an Expert. An “Expert” is someone who offers sessions on Gold Sessions. An “Offer” is a specific thing an Expert offers to help with, such as a single 1:1 session or a mentorship of several sessions.

2. Accepting these Terms

By creating an account or using Gold Sessions, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Gold Sessions. If you use Gold Sessions on behalf of a business, you confirm that you can agree to these Terms for it.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping the information in your account accurate and up to date, and for taking reasonable care of your account: use a strong password, keep it private and tell us straight away at goldsessionshq@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens through your account unless it was caused by something outside your reasonable control.

4. How Gold Sessions works with Experts

Experts provide their own expertise and their own sessions. Gold Sessions provides the platform around them: discovery, booking, payment and the session experience, including Your Gold.

An Expert’s advice and the content of their sessions are their own. Gold Sessions does not direct how an Expert runs a session, and nothing in these Terms makes an Expert an employee, partner or agent of Gold Sessions.

5. Expert profiles and what Experts say

If you are an Expert, you are responsible for everything you put on Gold Sessions, including your experience, credentials, achievements, the claims you make, your Offers and your availability. It must be true, not misleading, and yours to share. Do not claim experience, results or qualifications you do not have.

Gold Sessions may review Experts, for example when deciding whether to include someone in Gold Sessions discovery, but a profile on Gold Sessions is not a guarantee from us about the Expert or their claims.

6. Offers and bookings

Each Offer shows what it includes, how long it is and its price. When you book, you choose the Offer and a time, and tell the Expert what you want to figure out. A booking is confirmed once payment has gone through.

The price shown to you for an Offer is the price you pay. Gold Sessions does not add anything unexpected at checkout.

A mentorship is a single purchase that covers a set number of sessions. You book the first session at checkout and the others from your account within the period shown on the Offer.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by Gold Sessions’ payment provider, Flutterwave, and are also subject to Flutterwave’s own terms and payment rules. Gold Sessions does not store your full card details.

A booking is not confirmed until the payment has been successfully confirmed. If a payment fails, nothing is booked and you can try again.

8. Expert earnings

Gold Sessions keeps a fee from each purchase and calculates what the Expert earns according to the rates and terms that apply to that purchase. Experts can see what they would earn from an Offer before they publish it. The rates and terms shown to an Expert before they publish or sell an Offer apply to purchases of that Offer made under them; if Gold Sessions changes its rates, the change applies to future purchases, not to purchases already made.

Experts are paid their earnings using the payout details they provide. Experts are responsible for keeping those details accurate, and for any taxes that apply to their earnings.

9. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

Cancellations, rescheduling and refund eligibility may depend on the terms shown for the Offer or booking. Any cancellation, rescheduling or refund terms presented to the Client before payment form part of that booking.

If an Expert is unable to provide a confirmed session, Gold Sessions may help the Client to reschedule or arrange an appropriate refund.

Where a refund is approved, it is processed through Gold Sessions’ payment provider, Flutterwave, and may be subject to Flutterwave’s processing times and payment rules. Gold Sessions cannot guarantee that funds will appear immediately after a refund has been started.

10. Sessions and joining them

Sessions take place online. Once a booking is confirmed, the Client and the Expert can join from the session page on Gold Sessions, a short time before the start. Please join on time, from somewhere you can talk, with a working internet connection.

Meeting links are for the people in the session. Do not share them, and do not record a session unless everyone in it has agreed.

11. Your Gold

After a completed session, the Expert writes “Your Gold” for the Client: a short record of what was figured out, what to do next and anything worth remembering. The Client can read it on Gold Sessions and come back to it later.

Your Gold is for the Client’s own use, to act on what was discussed. The Expert keeps ownership of their own methods, frameworks and materials; writing Your Gold does not transfer them to the Client or to Gold Sessions.

12. Experts’ intellectual property

Experts keep ownership of their own knowledge, methods, frameworks and materials, and of the content they create for Gold Sessions, such as their profile, their Offers and Your Gold.

By publishing content on Gold Sessions, an Expert gives Gold Sessions permission to host, display and share it as needed to run Gold Sessions, for example to show their Expert page and Offers, include them in Gold Sessions discovery and show Your Gold to their Clients. This permission ends when the content is removed, except for copies we need to keep for the reasons in our Privacy Policy.

13. What Clients share

When you book, you tell the Expert what you want to figure out. This, and anything else you send through Gold Sessions, is shared with your Expert so they can prepare and help you, and is used by Gold Sessions as our Privacy Policy describes. You keep ownership of what you write. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing, and do not include other people’s private information without their permission.

14. Acceptable use

When you use Gold Sessions, you must not:

• commit or attempt fraud, including fake bookings, false payment claims or fake reviews;
• pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your experience or who you are;
• use Gold Sessions for anything unlawful, or for harassment, abuse or discrimination;
• collect, misuse or share other users’ personal information;
• interfere with or disrupt Gold Sessions, try to get around its security, or access accounts or information that are not yours;
• copy, scrape or resell Gold Sessions content without our permission.

15. Advice and outcomes

Experts share business, career, professional and other expertise, depending on the Offer. Their advice is based on their own experience, and its value depends on your situation and on what you do with it. Experts and Gold Sessions cannot guarantee a particular outcome or result.

Sessions are not a substitute for regulated professional advice, such as legal, financial, tax or medical advice, unless the Expert is qualified to give it and the Offer clearly says that is what it provides. Use your own judgement and take further advice where you need it.

16. Reviews

After a completed session, the Client may leave a review of the Expert. Reviews must be genuine and based on your own experience of the session. Do not offer or accept anything in return for a review, and do not post reviews that are false, offensive or unlawful.

Reviews are shown on the Expert’s page with the rating, the review and the month of the session, but not the Client’s name. Gold Sessions may moderate reviews and remove those that break these Terms.

17. Availability of Gold Sessions

We work to keep Gold Sessions available and working well, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free from errors. We may need to pause parts of it for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. If a problem on our side affects a confirmed booking, we will try to help put it right.

18. Suspension and closing accounts

Gold Sessions may restrict, suspend or close an account, or remove content or an Offer, where it is reasonably necessary: for example because of fraud, abuse, safety concerns, legal requirements, or serious or repeated breaches of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will tell you why. Restricting an account does not cancel the rights of other users in bookings that were already paid for, and Gold Sessions will deal with those fairly.

You can stop using Gold Sessions at any time. To close your account, email goldsessionshq@gmail.com.

19. Third-party services

Gold Sessions relies on other services to work, including Flutterwave for payments, Google (for example Google Calendar, which Experts can choose to connect, meeting tools where applicable, and fonts), email delivery providers and hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control, but we choose them carefully.

20. Changes to Gold Sessions or these Terms

Gold Sessions will keep changing as we improve it, and we may add, change or remove features. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and where a change is significant we will take reasonable steps to let you know before it takes effect. Bookings and purchases already made keep the terms that applied when they were made. If you keep using Gold Sessions after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.

21. Limitation of liability

Gold Sessions is responsible for providing the platform with reasonable care and skill. Experts are responsible for their own sessions and advice.

To the extent the law allows, Gold Sessions is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, business or opportunity, arising from your use of Gold Sessions or from an Expert’s advice. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in connection with a booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or affects any rights you have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

22. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against Gold Sessions because of something you did, such as content you posted, a breach of these Terms or unlawful use of Gold Sessions, you agree to cover Gold Sessions’ reasonable losses and costs arising from that claim, to the extent they were caused by you.

23. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and your use of Gold Sessions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that may apply to you under applicable law.

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact Gold Sessions first so that we can try to resolve it directly.

Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from exercising any right or remedy available under applicable law.
